Snow, snow and more snow

A couple of weeks ago I had a fantastic few days with my family in Lapland, in the snow. Now, I’m not that keen on snow in the UK; the whole country comes to a standstill after a couple of centimetres, plans get cancelled, and everywhere looks gorgeous for a couple of hours before  it starts to thaw and there’s just dirty slush on the roads that freezes again and causes more problems!

However, when you’re prepared for it, snow is lots of fun!

A really warm coat. The right boots. Cars with winter tyres on. More time to get to places safely. With this kind of preparation, snow becomes something you can appreciate the beauty in and enjoy, rather than just something that you have to endure.

Life’s transitions often work the same way.

For many women in their 40s and 50s, this stage of life can feel like a new season. Careers evolve. Children become more independent. Priorities shift. There may be opportunities for reinvention, but it can also be a very uncertain and overwhelming time.

But with preparation — self-awareness, support, and a clear plan of action to make progress — this season can be one of empowerment and intentional growth.

Preparation might look like:

  • Reconnecting with your identity and values
  • Nurturing relationships & networks
  • Investing in personal and professional development
  • Strengthening confidence and emotional resilience
  • Reigniting passions and dreams

Just as the right clothing and equipment mean that you can have the most fun in the coldest and snowiest of weather, equipping yourself with the right mindset, support and clarity of goals, means challenges can become great opportunities.

Helping women navigate these transitions with clarity, confidence and purpose is a big part of the work I do as a life coach. If you’re ready to prepare for your next season, come change your spots with me. 🐆
